Since its premiere in 1959, SCHMUCK is considered to be style-defining and the gateway for new trends in the author's jewellery sector. It is an important platform for participants to make a name for themselves and establish contacts in the international goldsmith's sector.


Distinctive, one of a kind items, wearable works of art, clear statements: SCHMUCK unites outstanding works from the author's jewellery sector. More than 900 goldsmiths and jewellery designers fro, 65 countries have applied to be part of the renowned special exhibition at the Internationale Handwerksmesse in Munich 2018.

Hans Stofer, professor at the London Royal College of Art and of the jewelery class at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle, has selected 65 entries from 21 countries for SCHMUCK 2018 to be exhibited at the special show.

Winner of the Herbert-Hofmann awards 2018

This year's highlight again was the presentation of the Herbert-Hofmann awards to three outstanding jewellery designers:

Green brooch "Why Is It All Overgrowing" made of nephrite and gold from Julia Maria Künnap from Estonia
Square Brooch "Schwarze Struktur Nr. 6" made of ebony, plastic, silver and steel from Gernot Leibold from Germany
Stone brooch "Non Plus" from Lin Cheung from Great Britian
