TALENTEmünchen – Meister der Zukunft 2026: International platform for young design

The special show TALENTEmünchen – Meister der Zukunft will once again be a platform for young designers from all over the world in 2026. An international jury of experts selected 86 participants from 25 countries from around 600 applications. Works from 13 different crafts will be presented, including glass, metal, ceramics, textiles, plastics, wood, and jewelry. From March 04 to 08, 2026, the special show in Hall B1 at «Handwerk & Design» will showcase innovative positions between craft, design, and art.

TALENTEmünchen stands for diversity, quality, and global perspectives in contemporary design.

Tradition, society, and responsibility

Many of the works on display navigate the tension between tradition and the present. Historical craft techniques are reimagined, further developed, and translated into current contexts. At the same time, the young designers address social, political, and cultural issues. Sustainability, social responsibility, and the conscious use of resources are central themes. The works show how design can be relevant not only in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of content.

Innovation, materials research, and future perspectives

Another focus is on researching new materials, sustainable concepts, and adaptable designs. The combination of classic craftsmanship, natural processes, and digital technologies opens up new design possibilities. TALENTEmünchen 2026 combines a spirit of experimentation, critical thinking, and quality craftsmanship—and offers a diverse, hopeful outlook on the future of creative craftsmanship.

TALENTEmünchen Award

The best works will be honored with a “TALENTEmünchen Award” on Saturday, March 07, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. on the stage in Hall B1. The selection will be made by an international jury of experts.

The special show is sponsored by the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria. The exhibition is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy.
