SCHMUCKmünchen 2026

International platform for contemporary jewellery

The special show SCHMUCKmünchen is a world-renowned exhibition for contemporary jewellery. For over 65 years, it has been showcasing the latest developments in artistic jewellery as part of «Handwerk & Design», attracting visitors from all continents to Munich every year.

SCHMUCKmünchen 2026 will take place from 04 to 08 March, parallel to the Internationale Handwerksmesse at Fairground Munich in Hall B1.

INTERNATIONAL DIVERSITY AND QUALITY

For SCHMUCKmünchen 2026, around 70 works from 29 countries were selected from over 1,000 applications. The show brings together established names and young talents. Origin, style or material are irrelevant – what matters is the quality of the individual piece.

This openness makes SCHMUCKmünchen an important meeting place for the international jewellery scene.

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME AND AWARDS

In addition to the main exhibition, SCHMUCKmünchen offers a diverse accompanying programme with international gallery presentations and special shows.

The highlight is the presentation of the Herbert Hofmann Prize on 07 March 2026 at 5 p.m., one of the most important awards for contemporary jewellery art.

SAM THO DUONG: THE GREAT BEAUTY WITH CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY IS THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

As curator of SCHMUCKmünchen 2026, Sam Tho Duong selected works from over 1,000 anonymous submissions that impressed him with their craftsmanship, form and clear individuality. His goal was to highlight new positions and reflect the international diversity of contemporary jewellery art – at an exceptionally high level.

Previous curators have been art historian and expert in designer jewellery Dr Jurgita Ludavičienė (2025), head of the State Vocational School for Jewellery and Glass in Neugablonz Norman Weber (2024), British artist Caroline Broadhead (2023) and jewellery icon Helen Britton (2022).
